FAMILY WEALTH & FAMILY OFFICE COACHING

Family wealth brings opportunity, and complexity.

Alongside financial security, it can quietly shape identity, relationships and expectations within families, often across generations. These dynamics may not always be spoken about, yet they influence how people relate to one another, how decisions are made, and how wealth is experienced, personally and collectively.

Over time, these same dynamics can also surface within the family office, affecting clarity, role boundaries, communication and trust between family members and those supporting them.

Family Wealth & Family Office Coaching provides a confidential, psychologically informed space to explore these experiences,  working with individual family members and, where helpful, the wider family system, including its relationship with the family office.

This work is not financial advice, investment guidance or governance design. It focuses on the human system beneath wealth.

Who this work is for…

This service is suitable if you are:

  • Part of a wealthy or multigenerational family
  • A next generation family member navigating identity, autonomy or responsibility
  • Managing or anticipating inherited wealth
  • Experiencing tension, confusion or distance within the family around money
  • Working within or alongside a family office where relational dynamics affect outcomes
  • Seeking clarity, healthier boundaries or more open communication
  • Wanting wealth to support, rather than complicate, your relationships and sense of meaning

Work may involve individuals, couples, sibling groups or the family system as a whole, depending on the situation.

Common themes explored…

While every family and family office is different, common areas of focus include:

  • Identity
How wealth shapes who you believe you are, and who you are expected to be.
Separating personal identity from roles, labels or family narratives.
  • Relationships
Communication, trust and boundaries within the family.
Power, dependency, loyalty and unspoken agreements.
How wealth influences closeness, distance or conflict.
  • Expectation vs choice
    Navigating obligation, responsibility and autonomy.
Understanding pressure, entitlement or guilt,  and moving beyond them.
  • Money silence
Finding language for conversations that feel difficult or avoided.
Bringing clarity to what is assumed but rarely articulated.
  • Inheritance and transition
Psychological preparation for change, succession or role shifts.
Supporting continuity without rigidity, and change without rupture.
  • Family office dynamics
How emotional and relational patterns influence structure, decision making and effectiveness.
Clarifying boundaries between family, governance and professional roles.
  • Meaning
Defining purpose, contribution and values beyond financial success.
Aligning wealth with what genuinely matters, individually and collectively.
My approach…

My work draws on Wealth Psychology, Gestalt psychotherapy and coaching, with a clear inside out focus.
Rather than offering answers, strategies or opinions, I support individuals and families to:

  • Increase awareness of hidden emotional and relational patterns.
  • Understand how wealth interacts with identity and family systems.
  • Develop stronger internal reference points and self trust.
  • Make conscious, values aligned choices with clarity and responsibility.

This approach creates the conditions for grounded confidence, healthier relationships and sustainable stewardship, particularly in complex family and family office contexts.

How the work is structured…
  • One to one coaching with individual family members
  • Small group or collective family work where appropriate
  • Confidential, discreet and psychologically safe
  • UK based and international clients welcome
  • Short term focused work or longer term support

The form of the work is always shaped by the people involved and the stage they are at.

Relationship to the book…

This service is informed by the family, inheritance and relationship chapters in Deep Satisfaction in Life & Wealth Psychology, particularly the exploration of Identity, Relationships and Meaning as the foundations for living well with wealth.
